Thank you for this valuable info. This is one of my biggest complaints about the iPhone - and I can't believe Apple didn't think of this from the start. I don't know where you are, but I am in Italy. I have a cracked U.S. iPhone. Do you know if downloading such a software program is going to work for me? or mess up my phone? I have some other real complaints about the phone as well. Do you know if there is a way / program so that when an sms message arrives, it does NOT SHOW THE TEXT ON THE SCREEN for the whole world passing by to see! That there is no option to turn this off is another unbelievable error I think on Apple's part. Please let me know what you think! and thanks for any help/advice you can give me.

I could not figure out why the Search app wasn't working, thanks for the post, I didn't know the BSD subsystem was required.

Do you have any problems w/ third-party apps slowing or crashing your iphone? This sounds cool, but I'm kinda paranoid about opening a Pandora's box ... don't want to end up in Nabeel's situation.
