Congrats! I love boxee, and have been evangelizing for them since I started using them in July. I'm glad to see they are getting support and recognition for their magnificent tool.

    Good luck!

    Cool. Thanks for kind words.

I feel the same way !

I love Boxee! I just started playing with it, it turned my mac mini into a "gateway to unlimited entertainment"! If they build such a great tool without major funding, with such support I can see things moving lot faster. Good for Boxee, good for us users!

However, the revenue model seemed little flaky. May be I dont' understand enough.
  • bijan · 1 year ago
We have a few ideas around the revenue model

But right now the company is 100% focused on users and the product. It's
still in alpha as you know.

Congrats. I'd love to check it out if you can spare an invite. I'm about to upgrade my home entertainment system. This definitely sounds like it's worth trying.

I'll send you an invite later today. Thanks

I've been itching to try out boxee myself. If you can spare an invite, I'd love to take it for a spin.
  • bijan · 1 year ago
Will do. I'll send out all the invites later today

    Thanks!

I've been using XBMC for a while and I am really interested in Boxee because it seems to integrate some of the services that I use (hulu, flickr, etc.) but cannot get on XBMC (yet?). I'd be interested to check out Boxee if you can send me an invite: ijr at routex dot net.

    Thanks!

I'd love to check out boxee, too. Been hearing about it a lot recently.

    Hi,

Boxee looks perfect to solve a problem I'm currently facing. Are you still sending out invites by any chance?
  • bijan · 1 year ago
Yep. I'm sending them out tonight.
  • Siminoff · 1 year ago
    Bijan,

Congrats on this one. Mark (PhoneTag CTO) and I just started playing with it on the Apple TV and so far love it.

Looking forward to seeing where this one goes...

Congrats on the investment. I met Avner in Boston last year and I really enjoyed the product, especially the SW/UI component. It's a very compelling user experience and I can forsee this being a cross-platform/open-source EPG for many set-top boxes out there. I can also see how it fits nicely into Spark's portfolio. Good pick-up!

I would love to try out Boxee if you're still passing out invites - I've been on the alpha waiting list for ages, thanks!
  • bijan · 1 year ago
i just sent out an invite to everyone that asked me for one. I still have some left so let me know if you want an invite. i'll need your email address. thx.
  • aakar · 1 year ago
Love to get an invite if you have some left
  • aakar · 1 year ago
whoops forgot the email address: aakar.shroff AT gmail
  • cdevers · 1 year ago
I'd like to try it too please, Bijan.

I have a G4 mini (so no Apple Remote) hooked up to our TV. I'd be curious how it does using just a wireless Mighty Mouse as the remote...
  • bijan · 1 year ago
    @chris

It works with a mouse but keyboard is much better than a mouse in my
    experience. Obviously remote is best.

    Invite on its way.

    Thanks!

If it's a step up from using the Finder, it's on the right path. I've tried a couple of approaches (MediaCentral for one), but didn't care for any of them.

Of course, the ideal remote would be an app on the iPhone working the way Remote does with iTunes. If Boxee isn't working on something like that, they should be :-)

    Stay tuned :)

not really sure about boxee what is this anyway
  • bijan · 11 months ago
Boxee is an open source media center app that runs on appletv, macs and windows machines.

It organizes your personal media and streams content from hulu, netflix, cbs, abc, mtv, last.fm, etc.
