what happens when the exact opposite of this happens ? E.g in a startup, someone from outside is brought in to run the Engineering who hadn't build the product and has little idea of it. Is that sound action ?

But of course this is very subjective

But as it relates to your porn concern: the Internet is full of it — with or without Tumblr. And the vast majority of content on Tumblr is positive.

Thanks, Bijan. Fair enough - I appreciate the site and enjoy how you personally use Tumblr for family and other observations - I'd like to emulate that. It's really my kids I worry about and the users they follow - so we talked about it - but its a whole internet issue that Im not sure what the solution is. You've got kids, what are your thoughts?

+1. I've gotten to know Jason over the past few years and got a sense of how hard hard-fought this battle was. But more importantly, what I felt got him through it was a value system/compass that resisted a lot of pressure. I know few as well-deserving of a good outcome. Truly happy for all involved...
