BijanBlog: Why I'm going to get the Droid

  • matt · 1 month ago
So many reviews about how the Droid is "just not quite as good as the iPhone." Hmm, I wonder which is more likely to happen first:

    1. Motorola improves keyboard for Droid 2, and Android 2.1 fixes rough UI edges
    2. AT&T comes anywhere close to reaching the performance of the VZW voice *or* 3G data network

one thing I'm sure is that Apple will go out of its way to make iTunes unsyncable with (An)droid. then again there is a blackberry app that syncs beautifully with iTunes, so maybe not...

I like the chances that option #1 happens

btw, this looks like a killer app to sync mp3's with the Droid on a Mac.

I have no problem ditching iTunes since I buy all my tunes from Amazon Mp3 store anyway.

Bijan, will be interested in your thoughts. I appreciate that you are always trying new things but you sure do swap phones a lot - will you keep your BB and i-Phone or is this just experimental?

I'm so perfectly content with my 3Gs that I couldn't possibly think of switching but never say never - I'll put a lot into what you have to say!!

PLEASE post some details as you begin to use it!

I'm SO ready to leave to AT&T despite loving my iPhone.

that's my feeling and why i bought the Droid this morning. Setting it up is a breeze. I'll write up my thoughts after a full day playing with it.

Taking the same approach for the same reasons. Getting a device and using it is the best way to "kick the tires" on everything this phone\service\platform is promising.

Bijan, I picked up one for Jules Friday AM and so far she loves it. I'm amazed at all the things that she has figured out on her own, though sometimes with the help of my 14 year old son; ie. our "IT department" at home.

Not as slick a case design as the iPhone but one you get past that there's a lot to say for it. And the increased coverage vs. AT&T is huge.
